Thai Foot Massage is the ultimate therapeutic and popular massage of the feet and lower legs. It has been described by clients as a "super lower body workout" which helps enhance the whole body's natural health ability via the feet and can help people feel grounded, cared for and much more flexible. This traditional & effective massage is excellent for relieving stress and also promotes relaxation. With many benefits it is also great for general well being.
This wonderful massage dates back more than two thousand years and is still practised by monks in Buddhist temples today. Elements will include working on 'Sen' lines, which are from the Ayurvedic tradition and are the equivalent to Chinese meridians, the stimulation of reflex points using the traditional stick and how to do foot wrapping.
It has elements of Shiatsu, Reflexology and Chinese massage incorporated into the massage itself and is said to help to stimulate the activity of the internal organs. Thai Foot Massage is thus hugely beneficial for optimum internal and energetic health and this type of natural therapy can help to create a physiological change in the body by naturally restoring harmony.
In this dynamic and practical one-day course, you will be taken from qualified massage therapist to becoming confident in giving a Traditional Thai Foot Massage professionally and adding to your existing treatments. Thai Foot Massage is performed with the hands together with a Thai Foot Stick. Your client will be lying on a massage couch or massage chair. It is possible for the therapist to be seated while doing the foot massage and there is also some standing. This course is also open to beginners with no massage experience with 2 additional course days, a catch up session, some case studies and a final run through.
During the course day, you will be taken through a recap on some theory, including the benefits, reminding of contra-indications and cautions, then practical practise throughout the day. The massage sequence is broken down into small steps and you will have the chance to give and receive the treatment which we believe is a huge part of learning with regards to understanding pressure. Refreshments are provided through the day and at lunch. Please bring your own lunch. You will be provided with a full manual to take home with you and a laminated sheet with shortened notes to practise. Why don't you come to discover more on the course?
